Dell Precision T1700 Components inside a different case

Me and a guy at work have been thinking if we could get a custom case to enclose T1700 parts into it. We've got everything out of a T1700 just leaving the USB Port Power for the front and thats it. We've took the lot (Power supply, GPU, Motherboard, Case Fans etc).

Would anyone think that they could be housed in another case or possibly used just sprawled out across a desk?

Just a theory we've got in mind.

Yes, I've transferred OEM systems to standard cases many times.
You need to pay attention to motherbd mounting screw hole placement and Front Panel connector pin layouts (ie - figure out what pins do which fucntions). Anything else is just a small matter of possibly mod'ing the case a little or usuinng a little ingenuity in mounting a custom PSU into a standard AXT spot.
