I have a Dell Precision T5400
with standard PSU 875 Watt
Video card is nvidia geforce 7950GT

Sold to my customer

and he added a secondary video card :
Zotac GT 710 ZONE 2GB DDR3 which requires 300W min power supply

The Precision T5400 motherboard says that max 75watt on the PCIe slot.

which break the power supply right away.
I understand that this requires a proprietary PSU.

Now I'm buying the PSU replacement part for Dell Precision T7400 (1000 Watt), same plugs / harness.

Would that be sufficient to power up the Zotac GT 710 ZONE 2GB DDR3 ?

Anyone has experience on this video card upgrade on Dell Precision T5400?

Just don't want to break the PSU for the second time :-D

Thanks

Dell Precision T5400
Dual Xeon E5450 quad core
32GB DDR2 ECC
2x500GB RAID
128GB SSD
nvidia geforce 7950GT 512MB

Solution
The gt710 is about a 20w card, which is why it uses no external power source and runs completely off the pcie bus.

If the power supply blew, then the customer may have installed the card with the system powered on and there may be further damage.
