Dell Precision T5400 with LGA1366 socket

I thought my Dell Precision T5400 had the LGA 771 socket. But I just confirmed through CPU-Z and Speccy that it is indeed the 1366 socket (with Xeon E4406 CPU). Is it possible I have another system motherboard that was mistakenly place into the T6500 chassis?
Everything I've read about the T5400 points to the LGA 771 socket being the standard.

The face plates interchange. You probably have a T5500, or T3500 depending on how many CPU it supports.

Unlike the T3500, the T5500 doesn't support all of the LGA1366 CPUs. Just the dual QPI link versions. It does support RDIMM memory which is quite inexpensive right now. A much better system than the T5400 you thought you had.

Thanks alot for the link and the CPU info. That's very good to know, I am going to upgrade the CPU next week so will look out for the dual QPI versions. Yes, like magic, an instant upgrade!
