I Purchased Samsung SSD 860 EVO 1TB to replace 256gb SSD (C drive). Did not come with a cable to connect new SSD via USB to the existing SSD, nor did Samsung provide a part number for the connector. Need to Mirror/Clone (?) the IOS and Data contained on the 256bg SSD to the new Samsung SSD 860 EVO. Computer has one SSD (c: drive) and 3 HDD (1TB each) and 64gb memory. Will purchase software to mirror/clone C: drive.

Specific steps for a successful clone operation:
-----------------------------
Verify the actual used space on the current drive is significantly below the size of the new SSD
Download and install Macrium Reflect (or Samsung Data Migration, if a Samsung SSD)
Power off
Disconnect ALL drives except the current C and the new SSD
Power up
Run the Macrium Reflect (or Samsung Data Migration)
Select ALL the partitions on the existing C drive
Click the 'Clone' button
Wait until it is done
When it finishes, power off
Disconnect ALL drives except for the new SSD
This is to allow the system to try to boot from ONLY the SSD
Swap the SATA cables around so that the new drive is...

Well, when you buy new drives (SSD/HDD), you won't get SATA data cable with them.

As far as your issue goes, unplug one of your HDDs and plug 860 Evo to that SATA cable for time being. Once that is done, download Samsung Data Migration Software for free from here,
link: https://www.samsung.com/semiconductor/minisite/ssd/download/tools/

Install it, clone your old SSD to 860 Evo and once done reboot your system, go to BIOS and set 860 Evo as 1st boot drive. Once your system boots from 860 Evo, shut it down. Then, remove your old SSD and connect 860 Evo to it's SATA cable. Also, plug your HDD back in and you're done.

Swap the SATA cables around so that the new drive is connected to the same SATA port as the old drive
Power up, and verify the BIOS boot order
If good, continue the power up

It should boot from the new drive, just like the old drive.
Maybe reboot a time or two, just to make sure.

If it works, and it should, all is good.

Later, reconnect the old drive and wipe as necessary.
