Need to pick between these two machines. Specs/design are mostly the same, but these are the key differences:

XPS:
i7-6820HQ CPU, 16GB RAM, 4K Ultra HD (3840 x 2160) InfinityEdge touch screen
Precision:
Xeon E3-1505M v5 CPU, 32GB RAM, UltraSharp™ FHD IPS (1920x1080) Wide View Anti-Glare LED screen

Primary use is Photoshop/Illustrator/InDesign/Web Design

Forget differences in price, just looking for opinion on which is a better choice. Is the 4K screen worth less ram, and is the Xeon worth not getting the 4K... I'm all ears.

Ohhhhhh! In that case...Hmnmmmmmm...

That is kinda hard. I'm more of the Professinal side of the Dell machines (I do IT work and we are a dell reseller so I deal with Optiplex and Percisions mostly).

But that XPS is too hard to pass up. If that is the case and it isn't your money, get the XPS.

Ahhh also was wondering what was going on. They are laptops XD I looked them up and looked at the socket and...
honestly unless you were doing video editing they are both waaaaay over kill for you espeically if you don't do any gaming.

as far as 4K goes that is up do you. 4K means more real estate on the screen and better details when editing photos but i would assume having a bigger screen is better than a higher res.

as far as RAM goes Pretty sure 16Gb is fine. it is kind of hard to choose which one because they both have pros and cons.

A little bit of gaming, but I primarily have a gaming desktop for that. Some video editing, and a little bit of rendering with V-Ray/Sketchup. It's a work machine, which means two things... 1) not my money and 2) I'm not getting a new one for 4 years most likely. So might as well take as much machine as they'll buy me now.

The CPU's are almost identical. A 100Mhz difference is NOT anything. Not like back in the day of P4's where 100-200 was a huge deal. I would go with the XPS just because of the screen. CPU's are almost same performance. You can upgrade RAM later.
