I'm replacing my power supply and am having trouble finding one with the additional 8-pin plug for the CPU. I have attached a 4 pin to try another power supply and it seems to work properly. Is the 8 Pin required (black & brown) Does anybody know the required voltage?

The 8 pin "EPS" connector to the motherboard is a 12v connection, you can use a 4 pin ATX connector there (also 12v) and in most cases it will work fine. You may run into issues if running a quad core or greater CPU. Do not use an 8 pin (or 6+2) PCIe connector there (the voltage is the same but the ground is reversed) - that would not be good.
I believe your case accepts a standard ATX PSU so most any PSU should fit
