So, my current GPU is inadequate for running current games at high settings, but i don't know if my computer can handle a powerful card, or if i should give up on it and buy a new one.
My PC's specs are:
HD radeon 5770 Graphics card
Intel i5 650 3,20 GHz processor
6GB DDR3 ram
350 watt PSU (Which i know is terrible, also needs an upgrade)
My screen is at 1680x1050 resolution.

Now, i had my sights set on a Radeon 7850/7870 or a Geforce gtx 560 TI/570. If i upgrade my power supply, can my computer run these cards without exploding from heat? Will these powerful cards be too held back by the other components?
Any thoughts would be much appreciated
