Hello everyone, I recently purchased secondhand a Dell T320 and wanted to get it up and running and Ive hit a few roadblocks. Though I have tried searching my issues, it seems I lack some basic server knowledge and lingo to even perform the changes successfully. My hopes for this server were to simply see what I could get out of it, and if I could (laughably) game on it. Some issues I have are that 1: its got Linux, 2: it does not have an iDRAC card, 3: when booted it lets me know that there isnt one, and 4: when finally getting to what appears to be the OS, the machine gets stuck on ipmi-si-drv and doesnt budge. So if by chance anyone has any knowledge of what I need to do to get it operational and what it could potentially accomplish, I would be most grateful. Thanks,

Logan

Well first and foremost you are not going to be able to play windows games on a linux OS.

iDRAC card is a remote access controller card for being able to access PC at BIOS level remotely, completley unnecessary for your uses.

ipmi-si-drv is an error related to virtual machines, your server is likely configured to boot to a virtual machine that was located on a NAS/SAN device at the business that once owned that server.

Bottom line you need to wipe the system and load Windows as you are not going to get anywhere with what was loaded on it.

Also this is a 2012 era 6 core server CPU, while it has many cores/threads it was not designed for gaming so a $600 modern computer will outperform this for gaming purposes.
Also whatever is in...

Also whatever is in the server currently for graphics card is likley not suited for gaming; at best it has a workstation graphics card which is for high output math on 3d models and cad, or at worst it is integraged graphics. Either way not suitable for modern gaming.
