Hi peeps, read a lot of info on here that is a little old so wanted to check..
I have a Dell T5500 and wanted the Samsung 840 Pro SSD's I have (2) to work faster than the sata II interface.
I've read that I can install a PERC H310 raid controller that will speed up my drives somewhat :) ?
There are quite a few PERC H310 controllers on the bay and wanted to check I was getting the right one... Or maybe there something better out there these days?

Should I use a simple Host Bus Adaptor to get the extra speed?

Thanks for any help :)

The RAID array you speak of is the RAID 0 setup which will require you to have two identical drives. Since you have 1x120GB and 1x250GB SSD you will effectively be left with 2x120GB when viewing it as a RAID controller(capacity of the lower drive). If you want to go for a RAID 0 array then you should additionally pick up a Samsung 840 Pro 250GB when you purchase that controller.

Thanks for that Lutfij, had completely missed that point!
So do they both have to be the same size or the same product in it's entirety?

Is it possible to use the speed of the interface in mono? i.e. only have the boot drive on the Controller and then use the storage on the sata 2 ?
I realise this is not RAID....
