I have a AMD 5870 with a DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort ports. I am now using one 1680x1050 monitor on DVI, and I'm hoping to buy two new around 24" 1920x1200 monitors that I will connect to DP and HDMI.

I noticed that Dell U2012M has only HDMI, so I can't connect two of them. As far as I know, converting HDMI/DP signal only works for 1200p and above if the converter is "active", and those converters cost a lot.

So I think I really need to buy two new monitors that support HDMI and DP, or I find a DP -only monitor and buy it together with one Dell U2012M.

Either way, I'm looking for good color and viewing angles like IPS and 1200p resolution. Dell U2012M looks good to me except that I can't have two of them connected.

Suggestions?

If you mean the Dell U2412M (I can't confirm they have a model U2012M, but if they did, it would be 20 inches diagonal), that doesn't have HDMI - it has DisplayPort, DVI, and VGA.

Anyway, here are some 24 inch IPS monitors that include both HDMI and DisplayPort connectors:

HP ZR2440w

Asus PA246Q

Dell U2410

NEC EA243WM-BK (details list this as a TN monitor, but viewing angles and price suggest otherwise)

There are also the LaCie 324i and HP LP2480zx that have the inputs you want, but those are wide-gamut monitors and way more expensive.

Oh, yes. I'm talking about U2412M :) -- looks like I'm unable to edit my original post.

You are right, my shop listed it as HDMI, DVI, VGA only. Time to take a look at the other models you've suggested.
