I have the opportunity to buy either of these monitors at a good price. The Dell U2713H is only about USD100 more than the HM.

However, I've seen very polarized reviews of the M model, whereas most reviewers are quite happy with the HM - perhaps because their expectations are lower due to the price point (?).

Any input from users of these two models? Is the Dell U2713H to be avoided or is it worth the extra price over the HM?

Would appreciate your input.

Should add: I'll be using it for mixed stuff. A bit of gaming, office work etc. Don't explicitly need PremierColor as I'm not doing much video or photography editing. The card reader on the M would be nice but is not essential.

at 27" 1080p its not going to look as good compared to lets say at 23" 34" due to the ppi and the pixels is bigger at 27" and i would recommend going for 1440p at 27" and 1600p at 30" for anyone thats interested in 1600p http://pcmonitors.info/articles/2560-x-1440-vs-1920-x-1080#!prettyPhoto
The trouble is that some of the bad reviews have been very thorough - but it's possible that they were just reviewing bad samples.

Have you seen any of the displays in action? Would like to hear what your impression have been.

You are better off with the Dell than the low price korean monitors. Keep in mind that they
have limited connectivity, short warranties, and are mfgd from panels that have been rejected
by other brands. If you can swing the price of the Dell, you get a better display and
three years warranty which is important for a monitor.
