I have a ad on craigslist near my area for a U3011 for only $650 bucks and it's in perfect shape!
My question is, will it be good for gaming? I know it has a 7 ms response time.
I really want to game on 2560x1600, or 2560x1440... Just wondering what's the best options out there if it isn't a good buy either. Thanks!

Correction....it advertises a 7ms response time :)

Input lag is 24.4 ms

Here's a comparison with a 120 Hz panel

I have a U2711 upstairs ..... great monitor...son minored in photography at college and loved it.... but when he games, he uses the 120 Hz panel whenevr its free

Also only 120/144 Hz panels can do Lightboost .... read about it here

Think about it.
7ms happens 142 times per second. That should not be a selection criteria.
The Dell is a good unit, and at a fair price.
You might check on ebay to see what similar untis actually sold for.
You can pay a similar price for Korean units like catleap or yamakazi which seem to have good reviews.
