Dell U3415W Monitor - how to provide power when not connected to a laptop?

Hey guys,

So I have a Dell U3415W monitor that I use for work. I plug it into my Macbook Pro as a 2nd display.

When my Macbook Pro is not plugged into the monitor, the monitor will provide no power to things like my phone USB cable or my wireless Razer Mamba charging station.

I've tested this by having the monitor plugged into a power source and powered on, with my iPhone USB cable connected to it and to my iPhone. The iPhone gets no charge. As soon as I plug the displayport into my Macbook, immediately my phone starts charging. Same thing with the Razer Mamba wireless station.

How can I tell it to provide power to these peripherals, even when my laptop is not connected?

Don't think you can. Get a USB charger like this http://www.amazon.com/Anker-Desktop-Charger-Technology-Smartphones/dp/B00DVH62J2 for charging when system is off.
