Dell Vista crashed now have blinking cursor after Bios

Hi everyone. So I'm surfing the web and all of a sudden my laptop turns off. I restart it but it only goes through the Dell Bios and then I get a black screen ith a blinking cursor. Wont let me F5 to get into Safe mode so I can go back to the last recovery date. Any suggestions?

I have Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit.
