I'm planning on upgrading a stock Dell Vostro 260, thought I have no idea if it will work at all.
I plan to put in:
GTX 770 2GB
EVGA 80+ BRONZE 500W PSU

Though I'm still a little worried that it won't work, does anyone have any past experiences or suggestions?

I have the same vostro. Came with a i3 2120. A i5 2500 will work. Nothing higher. Amazon has them used for $40 or so. Update BIOS to the A10 from Dell official. Ram will only go as high as 8 gig. I have the 500 PSU. Started with the GTX 660 2 gig ddr5. Then a gtx 1050 ti superclocked. Single fan no extra power. It plays good. GTA 5 looks good and COD WWII. Suppose to play Battlefield 1 without multi player. This PC would be a lower end PC on games but it will hang in there for a while longer.

At userbenchmark.com 17 2600, and i7 2500K are running, and 16GB RAM also. i7 2600K should work since it fits under the 95W CPU limit, but unconfirmed.
The MT version (Mini Tower) with 300W should handle the PSU swap. There was a slim tower version with a 250W PSU and IDK about that one. You shoul do some measuring there.
