Hey guys,
On my Dell X10-60256 I was having problems with chkdsk as it was always restarting the computer when it found something wrong with the stage 1 process saying it's deleting corrupt file record segment 57856.

So I decided to stop the process and run disk cleanup on Windows XP, it's started fine, then the computer just restarted and now it just keeps loading the bios screen then onto the Windows logo screen, then it restarts all over again???

Anybody know how to fix this?? Thanks for the help.

The drive could just be dead, or your Dell could be one of the ones with the infamous bulging caps.

Couldn't tell you if that is the case, because X10-60256 is not a model of Dell but the sku for Windows XP Pro OEM, which is why it's on the Windows CD-Key sticker. Microsoft supplied those stickers to Dell, and I can assure you they did not customize them with the model number for any Dell.
