I have a dell xps 13 9370 i5 full hd varient,. The laptop is without battery, battery was given to a friend who damaged that,.
With the battery in the laptop was working fine,. After i pulled out the battery and next day i plugged the charger to start it, it wont start.
Upon power btn press kb light, power light, front light goes on and stays on for 2,3 seconds and then the laptop goes off,.
The charger is dell usb c 45 watt charger, 5v, 9v, 12v and 19v., i got worried and opened the back cover again. And measured the voltages with multimeter.
8.9volts on main rail is present, 3.3v is present, 5v is present, bios and power btn 3.3v present, battery connector 7.5v, 3.3v present, upon power on cpu 3x coils 1.6v on 2 and 0.9 on 3rd coil is present,.
So what it means that if all voltages are present then the latop should post,. But it wont start,.
Now i am consused,. Does the charger which is usb c 45watt not providing enough power,.? Or this laptop wont work without battery.
Can someone explain how watts are working, if this charger is rated max 45watt and 19v then it means its not providing 45watts at 9 volts..?? Or the volts olny matters for amps,.
I dont want to spend 80 euro on battery without confirming if the laptop still works or not.
