I have a Dell XPS 13 (9350) and a Nexus 5X, I tried hooking up both devices via usb c but nothing happened. I already updated the lastest firmware and thunderbolt driver on the XPS. Any suggestion?
Did you enable Powershare in the BIOS? By default it's power-in only, unless plugged to AC. It can only be enabled for ports with a battery or lightning bolt icon.
Also, most USB type-C cables aren't rated for PD, so don't be surprised if it doesn't fast-charge.
Yes I did enable powershare in BIOS, still nothing happens when I connected the two devices together using a usb type c cable that comes with the Nexus 5X.
While that cable appears to be OK, dropping only ~0.23V @ 3A, just over a year ago the 5x was found to refuse to charge below 4.96v despite this still being within-spec for charging voltage.
Powershare is also only supposed to work if the laptop is in sleep mode, unless plugged into AC. Does anything even pop-up when connected? It's supposed to let you choose between Power Supply or Charging.
