Question Dell XPS 15 9550 battery replacement

Hi!

Just received my new 84Wh 6 cell battery to replace my old 3 cell 56Wh one. As the 6 cell is bigger, I have to remove my 2.5" harddrive which is given me problems anyway (it's faulty) so I am happy to take it out. Windows is installed on my Samsung 950 SSD and I use an external 2TB HDD for more storage space. When I take out the 2.5" harddrive though I get a message from Dell Support Assist stating 'Hard Drive - Not installed' which is correct but the only thing I can do is to press 'Continue' which powers my laptop down. What should I do here to make this work? It should be possible to remove the 2.5" HDD and run solely with my SSD right?

If you installed Windows on the SSD while the HDD was connected to your laptop, Windows setup created a booting partition on the HDD.
If you remove the HDD, then Windows won't boot because there is a booting partition on the HDD.

Correct, and don't have any USB flash drives inserted (aside from the Windows setup one, if you're using one to install). Windows has a habit of distributing partitions across a secondary drive automatically.
