Dell XPS 8000 Motherboards and i7 Processors

I would like to upgrade the processor using an XPS 8000 motherboard. On the Dell site, it states that this motherboard is compatible with i7s, and I found a i7 920. However, before I buy it, is it compatible with this motherboard? Or can someone inform on how to tell if they are?

Hi there,
Different i7's use different sockets (like plugs in different countries) and you need LGA1156 and the i7 you stated needs LGA1366, so search for i7's with the socket LGA1156 and that should work.
