Hello, i need to upgrade my computers gpu which is currently a gt 530. I was looking at a 280x with a aftermarket cooler which is about 400$ in my country. The other option is that i buy a r9 290 for about the same price without an aftermarket cooler but instead buy a arctic accelero iii for about 100dollars. I will be about 50dollars more expensive for me but i think i can handle that, the question is if everything will fit and i have no experience in gpu coolers.

specs

i5 2320 3.0ghz

geforce gt 530

IF you have anything else you would recommend please post it, thanks in advance :)

You might be over-spending a little on the GPU. You have a decent processor, but not anything blazingly fast. You would see amazing improvements buying a GTX760 or HD7870 / 270X. GTX770 or HD7970 / 280X puts you fairly high on the available GPUs. GTX 780/Titan/780 Ti or 290 or 290X is a serious step into high end GPU territory and might be bottlenecked by your system.

It makes more sense if you plan on replacing the rest of the system at a later time.

the gtx 760 in my country sells for 300dollars and i though about it but i dont know. If i buy that i probably wont be upgrading my gpu for 3 years but i had another idea. If i bough one gtx 760 now and after 1 year buy something similar to i5 4670k and then i just sli the card. i probably have to upgrade the psu though

well i'm pretty sure the psu could handle the 760.

I had bought a powercolor 7970 before and i got gold award http://amd4u.com/radeonrewards/. but i rdm the card and got my money back so what if i sell the most expensivest games (3 games) for 150$ or more. My friend said that he would buy thief 4 from me when its out for 90$. And my uncle was thinking of buying my cpu, gpu and the stock dell psu (460w) I would get around 400-450$ in total.
250$would go for an i5 4670k in my country and since my dad is paying 150$off the gpu i would need to pay about 300$ and then i would get an awesome computer. What do you guys think i should do?
