So, I've been wanting to buy a new GPU for my Dell XPS 8700, but I needed a new PSU for that to work.
So, the other day I bought a Corsair 450d case and a Corsair RM650 PSU from a friend of mine.
I plugged everything in, so everything should be in working order. But for some reason I'm not able to boot my PC.

I've been having some problems connecting the front panel connectors, but I've notices something strange. I was watching a tutorial on how to connect the front panel connectors on my XPS 8700 MOBO (0kwvt8), so I did the exact thing he did. Now, the PC didn't boot, but whenever I pressed the start button for about 5sec, the PSU shut down...

I am pretty much lost by now, so I was hoping any of you knew how to fix this.

Here are some photos:

Thanks in advance! :)

Not sure if I'm right because I'm not talking from experience.
I do know that mid to high end brand systems use proprietary PSU's that can't be changed with aftermarket PSU's.
So if you want to upgrade your PSU you need to buy a DELL PSU.

I was thinking about doing that. I might have broken the MOBO while changing case...

Looks like that. The new PSU should be in working order. It was last used 3-4 weeks ago.
For now I wanted to plug the old PSU in the case and run my old GTX660, but the 4pin MOBO powercable is not long enough :(

So, I found the solution! DO NOT buy a DELL desktop if you are thinking about doing some upgrades by yourself.

For now I mounted my old Dell PSU on top of my chassis with some duct tape. Ordering a new MOBO as we speak.

Thank you @Andrei N for all your help!

Take care!
