Dell XPS 8700 Upgrade Question

Hey everyone,

Was hoping I could get some thoughts on this without contacting Dell directly... My girlfriend's computer which you can see here:

I wanted to add another internal harddrive since she does a lot of photography and is constantly having to move stuff off to an external drive. There's a 256gb SSD + 2tb SATA drive in there now. I wanted to add an extra 3 or 4TB drive as well. Does anyone know if I'd need anything other than a new SATA harddrive? Should there be space inside, and should it have all the connections necessary and enough power in the included power supply to handle the extra drive?

Thanks in advance for any advice. And if I have to, I'll contact Dell, I'm just assuming they're not going to be very helpful since it's out of warranty.

if you have spare drive mount (which you probably have), a spare Sata power connector from your power supply (which you probably have), a spare sata port on the motherboard (which you probably have), and a spare Sata data cable (which you probably don't have, but you can get them really cheap), you should be just fine.

Also check to see if you'll need to get four mounting screws. They may already be screwed into the case which means you'll need to unscrew them before you can use them.

OK so just in case I'll order a spare sata cable (actually i might have one, i'll check first) when i order the new drive, but otherwise you think it can be assumed that there's space and power for the new drive in a tower like this with the listed specs?

And I'm pretty sure I have extra mounting screws laying around from previous computers.

Others have successfully added a second hard disk drive with no problems so it shouldn't be that difficult.
