Hello. I complaining about a laptop I've owned for a couple years now. It ran perfectly fine until roughly a month ago when It fell from my couch recliner and onto the carpet. (A short distance.) However, when I picked It up nothing was damaged but the screen dimmed and said "Battery plugged In not charging." I attempted to investigate the problems on my laptop, but It eventually shut down. Every time I attempt to power It on the power button will turn on for about a second or two then turn off. I've tried releasing flea power from my PC by removing the battery, disconnecting the charger, and holding the power button for 15-20 seconds, but nothing seems to be working. I had the chance to test another charger and battery on this system to see if the issue Is on my PC only and I discovered that no other chargers I had worked for this laptop. I'm now coming to the conclusion that something's wrong with my battery port. Please reply with solutions, thank you.

Since this happened after you dropped it, you need to have someone look at it for cracked or dislodged parts if you can't open the case and check yourself.

Does the system work on wall power without the battery or just runs but does not charge with the battery?

It's pretty much clear that the charger port is physically broken, maybe even something internal is also.
