DEM File accidentally opening with notepad

Hello so I accidentally changed a DEM file to a notepad as the default thing to open all DEM files with so I'm stuck with any DEM file I download to be open with notepad and I need to know how to reverse this.. I've tried searching how to but couldn't find anything... So how would this be done? regedit? or?

have you tried settings/Apps/Default apps
Scroll right panel to bottom
choose either choose default applications by type or Choose default applications by protocol, which ever matches DEM

scroll though the listings and find the type/protocol you wish to change and pick what it should be, not what it is now.
