Demonstrate Quadro advantages

I'm no expert when it comes to Quadro graphics cards, but I do understand their purpose. Is there any software out there that can simply display and demonstrate the advantages of using nVidia Quadros for their intended tasks?

As an example, if I have 2 PC's with identical spec apart from one using a Quadro K2200, the other using a consumer GPU like a Geforce or Radeon. Then using possibly AutoCad or similar to show off the obvious advantages of using Quadros.

Is there such a thing, are the differences visibly obvious?

Any answers or ideas would be greatly appreciate. Thank you in advance.

This question of workstation vs gaming cards just keeps coming back again and again.

Read what Nvidia have to say on the topic: http://www.nvidia.com/object/quadro_geforce.html

As for any *visible* difference, no probably not. But workstation cards have more rigorous testing on major applications and have better driver optimisations for those popular programs. But i guess at the end of the day it comes down to reliability and support.

It's the same reason a business will pay through the nose to put Dell hard drives in their Dell server, rather than buy off the shelf for a quarter of the price. It's so if something goes wrong they can't throw the problem back at you and say 'well you weren't using our drives, so it's not our problem'. When you're spending 20k on the server the drive for a few hundred is a no-brainer for peace-of-mind. Same with the graphics cards, the CAD software can cost 10k+ for the license so a few extra thousand for a workstation card with guaranteed compatibility is not a problem.

Thank you very much for the information Whiplash450. The document from nVidia is extremely informative. Very much appreciate your time and knowledge on the matter. Thanks!
