I am buying myself headphones which will be mainly used for gaming, although, since I will have them, I will also listen to music with them, but gaming will be primary.. I found good deal on Denon AH-D600 few days old, 170$ Although this is a bit more that I initially tended to spend on headphones, I might treat myself with them. How are they when it comes to gaming? I read great reviews about them, but there was no mention about PC use with them.I have sb audigy audigy sound card on my old pc, and on my new one I have MSI Z77A-GD65 mother board. To be able to use this denon headphones mostly to their potential, should I use them on MSI mother board, or put some soundcard in PC?

If I need to get new sound card to get mostly of these headphones, I don't wanna spend too much because my budget is really tight ATM. Around 60-70$ mark I saw some used cards like:
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Music
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Platinum Fatal1ty Champion
X-Fi Fatal1ty FPS
Razer Barracuda AC1 5.1
Sound Blaster Audigy2 ZS
Creative X-Fi Xtreme Gamer kartica

Since some of those were quite expensive some time ago, how do they fare vs today sound cards?

Thank you

Wow that's a great deals on those MSRP is like $450 or so and even sales are usually 270ish...so I would defenitley snatch those up. It looks like they have low impedance of 25oHms so they can be used with ipods etc wich is nice... this also means u don't need a soundcard with a amp to make them sound decent like you would with say something with 250 oHms impedance. They look like they should sound great with everything but due tot he wiring config you will be unable to attach a 3.5 socket mic so you will have to use a standing Mic or something that sticks on like http://www.modmic.com/ or http://www.amazon.com/Moov-Mic-Detachable-Boom-Microphone/dp/B00DLKX7BK/ref=pd_sim_sbs_e_3?ie=UTF8&refRID=0FY1Y39BGWV1D28DW1A7

Sounds like a great deal and setup....hope you enjoy and hope this helps.

Your motherboards ALC 898 codec should be good for gaming, sound cards are not worth the money but if you want really good sound card look for Asus Xonar Essence STX.

Edit: I used my friends Asus Xonar sound card and I didn't notice the difference, my motherboard already includes high end ALC1150 codec.
