Dented car doors

So my brother was driving my father's car and he dented and scratched two doors pretty bad. Is there any solution for this? My father is pretty upset and he doesn't want to spend money to fix it :/ What is a Do It Yourself solution to this? Something that is pretty easy? Doesn't have too be too nice, just good enough to cover up the dents and scratches

Minor scratch's and dents can be sorted by an expert, it is much harder than it looks to do it properly. More major dents you need a new panel and if you want the colour to match perfectly then the new panel will need spraying to match unless you are lucky

Depending on how badly damaged, touch up paint would work. It won't be pretty, but its better than seeing the scratches.

As for dents, you could use a hair dryer and can of compressed air but no guarantee to work (depends on how bad the dent is).

AFAIK you have 4 options:
1. File a claim with insurance and see if they would fix it. Your car insurance will go up and stay up forever.
2. Buy two new doors from dealership. Its gonna be VERY expensive since labor cost a lot. If you can learn how to install the doors yourself it would save some but it would require some research before you attempt to.
3. You could try what I suggested, but it depends on how bad the damage is.
4. SOL, deal with it 😀

well iif its small sand down use bondo or spot putty [depending on size of dents] sand to smooth or shape primer and paint

My dent is pretty much like the one in the video except with lots of scratches and much more distributed around the two doors. How severe is that? I will send a picture as soon as I can.

man I don't know I gave steps above if the scratches are light just rub them out with compound and buff them out with wax if you need go to your local vo-tec and see if they got a auto body class and ask if they can do the job for a donation to the school

You can try pulling the interior door trim and tapping the dents out with a ball peen hammer. That should get it close. Any dent with a crease in it is very hard to get out though.

Yeah, that's pretty bad. $1,000 would not be out of line to fix that.

3 options
1. Pay the $1,000
2. Learn autobody skills (and buy all the tools you'll need)
3. Live with it

Since this car is really really old, and has been used a LONG time, what can I do to just cover up? I heard spread aluminum foil over the door, but will that hold against rain? The car isn't even worth the cost to repair the doors.

I just realized, I have a great idea! I could spray paint the car, make a design out of the dents 😀 I'm sure it's better than just leaving it dented 😛 But then again, my artistic skills suck and would make the car look like an even bigger disaster 😀

Then I thought again, either I spray painted a doge meme on it like "Wow. Such crash. Many dent. Very destroy. Much bent. Wow. Or I painted "Number of f*cks I give and a big 0 sign" LOL

That must of been a nasty collision. Your best bet is to bring it to a pro and let them sort this out for ya.
