Desktop and UI Mods

Hi,

A few days ago my school held a workshop on internet security.There was a guy(computer engineer sort of..) who had come to our school to give a lecture.He had a laptop running windows 8, but when he switched to desktop mode the ui was of mac os.

So me and some others asked him and he told us to google for windows desktop mods, so we did it but the only thing I got was only a bunch of images from deviant art and other sites showing off the modded desktops but no explanation was given on how was it done.

Does any tool to achieve this exists?

Yes, they used rainmeter and got the skins (or mods) from there. i use them on my computer and they fucking epic man
