Desktop boots but no display

I have a old/new desktop.it boots but no display. I've removed ram hdd. I also tried resting the Boise. Nothing works. I'm wondering if the mobo is dead?
LG 775 mobo (d945gcpe)
Kingston ddr 2 (1gb x2)
Wd 80gb

What kind of connection are you using between PC and monitor?
You are running quite minimalistic hardware.

Are you sure it's not short-circuiting?
Have you tried booting it out of the case?

VGA...and yes I’ve try it out side of the case....the hardware is fine as its only for surfing. what would cause it to short-circuit
