Desktop display goes black

I was trying to use my laptop as my display monitor for my desktop. As I was on the display settings in the control panel I selected display desktop on 2 and suddenly my desktop display goes black and I have not been able to get it back. Any help??

1st you cannot use a laptop display as a 2nd display unless you take it apart and hook the lcd up somehow to your graphics card. The vga port on the laptop is for output to an external monitor only.

That said re-boot your desktop, press f8 while booting to get the safe mode options. Choose safe mode vga mode. That should let you re-set the monitor to your primary.
