Desktop doesn't boot when the CPU is changed.

I've changed my CPU from a i7-920 to i7-975 Extreme Edition. I've correctly replaced it and also reset the CMOS since I felt it was necessary. But the PC still doesn't run. I have a LanParty DK X58-T3eH6.

Your board may need a bios update to run that CPU. I would update the bios with the 920 installed and then drop the 975 in and see if it will boot.

That wasn't the case. All I did was mix up the RAMs and after that it worked perfectly. Only change I still had to do was change the time in BIOS and save. That is all.
