I just recently built my desktop and I haven't installed an OS on it yet. When ever I connect the PSU plug the computer turns on and goes through a lot of error codes and turns off again. Some of the error codes I saw are ff, 36, 79 and 99 and a few more which cycles past really really quickly.

I use Asrock Extreme 4 and Fx6300

That sounds like you have the PSU turned on when you plug it in. If that's the case it could explain some of the problem. Everything thing needs to be plugged in while the PSU is off and then turn it on to power everything up at the same time.

Go to the Asrock site for info on the error codes. You'll need the exact model number of your motherboard and the BIOS version if you can get it.

That might actually be whats wrong. Because the first time I turned on my desktop it is working fine but I do not have the OS ready to install. So I shut it off. I noticed my mouse is still on after I shut the computer off so I pulled the plug. The next time I went to turn on the desktop, it went on immediately after I plugged it in without me touching the power button and the error codes started turning up. I am currently replacing my CPU stock cooler and I'll update whether or not it is fixed.

I am new to desktops and building desktops so sorry about my stupid questions 😛

if your referring to the led display on the motherboard. then its supposed to do that. if it stops anywhere before FF then you have to look up that final error number.

so boot the machine and take note of the final error number before the machine crashes. then look it up on either the asrock forums or in your motherboard manual.

The final error code is 99 but I have tried looking for a solution for ages but I can't find an adequate one.

error 99. Problem related to PCI-E devices. Please re-install PCI-E devices or try installing them in other slots. If the problem still exists, please remove all PCI-E devices or try using another VGA card.

also test the card in another build to see if its the problem or the pci-e slot on the motherboard.(seems theres a common fault with these asrock boards shipping with 1 or more pci-e slots damaged from the factory.
