Desktop for movies

Hi There!

I would like to build a desktop for watch 3d movies only no games! I need help to figure out wich is the best system. I having 55" Samsung 3D led 240Hz.

My idea is:

Proc: Intel i7 3700k
Moth. b.: Asus p8z77-v pro
Video c: Asus Nvidia GeForce GTX 550 ti
Memo: Corsair Vengeance 2X4Gb DDR3 1866MHz

I think it's enough but i'm not sure. I can go up or down if necessary my goal is the perfect 3d result.

I think what you have there is a overkill if you plan to just watch movies with it. Personally I would get a network enabled blu-ray player and call it a day.

Thanks for the fast answer but i want to build a new destop because my old desktop is died, that's why i thought i build one what is gonna be able to 3d.
So you think it's overkill my plan. What should i pull down? If i could save same money on it!

Intel i7 3700k is pricey
intel i5 3570K is the best performer and 100 bucks less tahn 3700k

Corsair Vengeance 2X4Gb DDR3 1866MHz
Intel favors DDR3 1600 not 1866

If you're not going to overclock too you could go with an i5-3470 and an H77 motherboard. Then upgrade your GPU to a Radeon 7950 or a GTX 660TI with NVIDIA 3D surround. I'm guessing for your uses you most likely won't benefit from overclocking so there's no point in purchasing a 3770K. Get a stronger GPU that's capable of outputting to 3D displays. That is where you will benefit the most.

Hey! Is there really a need for a high end gpu on a pc for watching 3d movies? I'm not questioning your suggestion to get a high-end gpu like gtx 660ti..its just that i've often seen low-end gpus suggested on hometheatre pcs..do 3d blueray require more gpu power? I just read in an article that movies generally are displayed at 24fps and they are converted to higher frame rates through a process called 2:3 pull down. So if the frames are used multiple times to create more number of fps (or is each frame processed separately by the gpu?) would there be a need for a high-end gpu?
