recently i have purchased Seagate Barracuda 1TB Desktop SATA Internal Hard Drive , when i connected it to my desktop it was lagging so i connected it to my laptop 4 checking purpose n it was working fine i did a warranty check on segate website n it shows that my harddisk is genuine
but when i connected to my desktop it couldn't recognize and hard disk was making creepy sound
my old harddisk too was having same problem with desktop but when connected to my laptop it was working fine so is there any problem with the desktop ??

Solution
The old hard drive died of old age by the sound of things....

I would suspect the new hard drive is much slower connected to the desktop simply because the desktop is a much slower system all round ie it's not the drive that's the problem it is the desktop PC unable to keep up with it as well as the laptop
Desktop specs : cpu intel dual core processor e5700 3.00GHz
RAM : 4Gb
graphic card : amd radeon 4650 HD 1Gb

Laptop Specs : i5-3210M @2.50GHz
Ram :4Gb
Graphic card : amd radeon HD 7670M

The Old hard disk crashed it doesn't work now but when it was in working condition n connected to desktop it was making this creepy sound n when connected to laptop it was working smoothly so then i connected to my desktop after few days it crashed .
