Desktop Hardware Upgrade Help

My Current Pc configuration is :

1. Intel core 2 duo-- Processor
2. Biostar G-31 --MotherBoard
3. DDR2 --- Ram

i want to change my Mother Boards, which will supports my current Processor ,,,,, I will change My processor later to core i 3. Have such type of motherboards, which supports Core 2 duo and core i 3 both ? Please suggest me ///

No the Core i3 started with socket LGA 1156 and goes on to LGA 1155, 1150, and 1151. If you want to upgrade I suggest saving for the newest socket and get a B250 motherboard and a Pentium G4560, which is much like an i3 because it has hyper-threading. You will also need DDR4 RAM.

Which Biostar G-31 motherboard do you have? Have you considered a Core 2 Quad? What do you want to use this system for?
