Question Desktop has a strong smell

Desktop has a strong odor when it is running. It smells like electrical or metal or rubber. How do I get rid of it? Dell OptiPlex 7010 SFF

Well, the first thing to do is using your nose and an open PC is identifying where the smell is coming from. Also keep an eye out for bulging and blown capacitors as those leave an acrid smell. And the lower the quality of your power supply, the more likely it's the cause (you don't specify any of your equipment).

You can use a papertowel tube as a "snorkel" to allow you to sniff specific areas to help localize the smell.

You should also get HWiNFO64 and run it to see what kind of system temperatures it's seeing.

its mostly in the early 50s. Highest is 55 C.
