Desktop Icons Keep Moving!!

Hello all, I am having a rather irritating problem with my desktop icons as they keep moving whenever my computer is booted up. I'm sure most people have their icons in a particular order so those people can understand this frustration. I have already tried ticking and un-ticking the auto arrange button (which was never ticked in the first place) and a couple of other methods such as deleting the icon cache.

I don't know if this has anything to do with my monitor as it uses display port instead of DVI.

The problem started to occur in windows 7 however after doing the free windows 10 upgrade its only gotten worse!

I had a similar problem on my work PC (four monitors) and anytime the resolution changed or I hooked up a projector or other monitor everything would move. I gave up and installed Stardock, Fences. No no matter what I change my icons stay how I arranged them.

I must be odd, I don't like icons at all and hide them all. I hardly use any icons that aren't on my task bar or pinned to start. I made a toolbar for desktop so i can see the programs if i need to.

I just like having more space for my wallpapers.

I know that doesn't help.

Hi,
Had a similiar problem for a few days, just got a new monitor, and whenever i turn it off/on or after playing some games, the desktop icons would shift around.

I found a fix that seems to work fine: in AMD control panel > Display > Turn GPU scaling ON

I think nvidia might have some similiar option in case you dont have an AMD card, not sure of that.

i have the exact same issue , thinking it's a bug in windows 10 b/c seems like everyone is having this issue especially in the gaming modes , after playing a game or even rebooting
