Desktop icons keep showing up in my usb drive stick

I have had to reinstall my anti virus but in the transition, think my comp might have gotten a trojan becasue now, when i save something onto a usb drive it immidiately shows up like a desktop shortcut icon(the one with the little arrow on the bottom left hand corner). It never used to do this,well only when something was infected and it wouldn'tt let me open it and i would easily fix it with a scan but it seems to not have any effects on the drive becuase even if i format and save a file, it stills shows up as a desktop icon. I now have AVG antivirus and scan but it seems to keep doing it, could someone help,I would really aporeciate it.

Open the flash drive MY COputer and click on flash drive - then go to view and select details, see if that fixes it

Thanx but that doesn't do it either.I will try reintalling an antivirus and see if that will fix the problem.
