Question Desktop icons not appearing, forcing me to restart explorer.exe ?

For some reason, at random times, the correct desktop icons disappear. The only solution I found for this problem (temporarily) is restarting explorer.exe, but the problem would eventually come back. Has anyone ever had this problem before? I recorded a GIF of the problem, which can be seen here:
