I am running Windows 7 Home. Since I loaded it last year, my computer seems to shut down frequently during idle times on occasion. I will have no desktop icons and no task bar. I can't load the task manager. It goes to a dark, almost black screen. I have to do a hard boot on the computer and restore it. No one has been able to find any virus. I have had it serviced at least twice. I am now running the antivirus program through Charter Internet. No program has picked up any virus. How do I fix this?

Solution
malwarebytes, update it and run from Safe Mode...

Also, disable Hibernation:

To make hibernation unavailable, follow these steps:
Click Start, and then type cmd in the Start Search box.
In the search results list, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as Administrator.
When you are prompted by User Account Control, click Continue.
At the command prompt, type powercfg.exe /hibernate off, and then press Enter.
Type exit, and then press Enter to close the Command Prompt window.

Make a new user as administrator and log into it. Can you get the task manager?
