Desktop Keeps BSoD every 2 minutes

I recently downloaded this software so I could mount iso files on Windows XP. So I copied a sys file (VCdRom.sys) to %systemroot%/system32/Drivers/ and everything was OK. It BSoD-ed after I open the exe (VCdControlTool.exe) in the archive to INSTALL the driver. After it booted up, I erased the archive and the sys file, pretty much everything downloaded today but it still BSoD.
Is the driver still mounted on the system even after I deleted the .sys file?

OS: Windows XP x64 Edition SP2
