Hi All,

I have a gigabyte g41m combo motherboard. While inserting the graphics card into PCI express slot, i scrached off one of the diodes near the slot. Now the motherboard does not work, it receives the power supply but no video/beep.. Will it be possible to repair this motherboard.

Thanks,
Shashi Kumar

Solution
Did the diode come off cleanly? Is the mobo damaged. If everything looks ok and you know the proper orientation of the diode - I would have somebody with some soldering skills put it back on for you.

I got it fixed with local repair shop. He soldered the missing diode. Apparently there was damage to one of the IC's. He replaced that also.

Thank you for all the suggestions.
