Hello! I'm having an issue where I turn on my computer and it's not connecting to my monitor, which an acer.

I was able to play games and the like this morning, and in the midst of trying to solve a blue screen of death issue my computer seems to have started doing the above.

My monitor seems to be running alright, and the cable itself detects when it is hooked up to my desktop. The computer starts up, lights fans and everything, but the fans arent slowing down like it normal like it does when it starts up. It also only turns off after a long press on the power button besides flipping the power switch on the case or unplugging it of course. The monitor itself reads no signal.

I've tried unplugging and reconnecting many components like the ram, video card, and the SSD I have. My mother board is a Asus z170 A, my ssd is a Samsung 850 evo 500gb, and my graphics card is a MSI GeForce GTX 1080 8gb

If anyone has any suggestion I'd really like some help. Thank you!

Alright, I took it to Best Buy Geek Squad and they did the same thing I did to clear the CMOS, but they bled the system of a static something, and now it boots up. So now it's fixed. Thank you!

I've tried that by removing the battery for 2 hours and by touching my screwdriver to the pins where other sites have told me to, but no luck there (I don't have a jumper available). What more confusing is that sites that say how to clear the CMOS have 3 pins, but my motherboard has 4 where it says to clear the CMOS. Am I still missing something?
