desktop PC blowing fuse after removal of external hdd

Due to some requirement i had to reboot my desktop PC. hence i tried restarting it through windows command. However, since my external hdd was connected it did not reboot after shutting down perfectly. I tried by removing the HDD from the USB port (a little carelessly i must confess) and pressed the reboot button on the cabinet. Immdly my room's fuse got blown. Can some one suggest what should be my course of action now?

When your PC first powers up it pulls more amps then when it is running conastant.
You might have too many items on your breaker, or it could just be a fluke fuse blow (it happens).
Try turning the fuse back on and test agian, if it blows agian then report back how much stuff you have plugged in to that fuse breaker.

Do check if the USB port that the HDD was attached to became earthed or not. It may be by some stray wire, or some metal piece, or even connection to the PSU earth pin. But these usually happen if suddenly a lot of power is drawn, like when something suddenly gets earthed
