I have a MS Word 2010 document saved on my desktop. It's a HW schedule. I have it by itself on the right side of my desktop, all the way in the last column. Everything else is arranged on my desktop starting on the left. After i update my schedule and save it, it always moves to the next available spot on the left side, with the rest of my shortcuts. Is there any way to disable this?

Solution
This is an issue related to Microsoft Office + Windows 7.
I believe there are others who have had this issue for years.
No resolution.
Although personally, I have only seen this issue with Microsoft Office 2003 or with people who use Office 2003...
Im surprised its doing the same on 2010 since I have had computers that did not have this problem and I thought it was because it was not Office 2003.

Hark! Do not fear my glow, for I am an angel sent from the heavens to answer this question. Here are the steps:
(1) Create a folder, say on your desktop.
(2) Move files that need recurring saving to this folder.
(3) Create a shortcut for each document on the desktop.
(4) Open files via shortcuts, work, save.
(5) Hear angels singing, "aaaahhhh" as the shortcuts don't move upon save.

My work here is done. You all can move on, but this burden will not trouble you any longer!
