desktop shows all files via FTP even though no FTP server is running?

My desktop "desktopname" and laptop are connected to the same LAN. Desktop using wired connection, laptop using wifi. If I enter "ftp://desktopname" into the browser address bar, instantly I am able to browse to and see all the files on all of my desktop's local drives! But as far as I know, I am not running any FTP server on my desktop. The FTP Server in "Turn Windows Features on or off" is off. Looked at Services in the Computer Management console, none of them mention FTP.

Any ideas how my desktop is responding to an FTP request from my laptop?

Looked at Task Manager > Services, don't see anything related to FTP.

Also did a search for "ftp" in Process Explorer, nothing comes up.

I found it. It was Voidtools Everything (www.voidtools.com). It's the fastest file search utility I know of. In Everything I had enabled the "ETP Server", which enables me to use Everything on my laptop to search the files on the desktop. I didn't realize it had enabled FTP access outside of Everything too. It is password protected (see screenshot), but I guess that login and password had been saved somewhere. Seems like it would be OK if access is possible only from my home LAN, but I'm not sure of that.

thanks for your reply to my question! I should have figured it out earlier.
