Desktop with the same adapter isn't as fast

So, I have a feeling that my desktop is the issue. I used the same wireless adapter on my laptop and desktop, and it seems that my laptop's speed is quite higher than my desktop. I'm very new to this, and I can't quite figure anything out.

Have you ran an internet speed test on both of them?
It will tell you if one is receiving faster Ping / Upload / Download speeds.

If there is an issue:
- Have you updated to the latest drivers of any necessary components?
- Does the laptop have higher traffic priority with your router?
- Have you ran malware/AV scans?
