I updated windows, then got bad image errors.

I tried to uninstall the updates, but my pc won’t boot correctly now. Automatic repair just fails.

I’m at the point where I’m going to reset my pc, but I really don’t want to lose my data. Any suggestions?

Solution
Resetting the PC could be done without losing your personal files, but it will wipe all the apps you have installed.
Make sure to select the "Keep my files" option.

Before resetting try cleaning the updates folder and see if that helps.
Start in Safe Mode.
Go to C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution. and delete all contents of the folder. Reboot.
