Desktop won't start unless router is on

Lately my desktop won't load up unless the router is on. My computer will start but the screen is blank. If the router is not on or the ethernet cables are not plugged into machines it just won't load windows. Once the router is on and the ethernet cables are in plugged the desktop loads windows normally.

I may be completely on the wrong path here as I have never used it and don't really know how it works but do you use your microsoft account to log into windows by any chance?

No I use a local account to log in.

Okay, have you tried reinstalling your ethernet drivers? It could be that they are corrupted in some way and don't know what to do when there is no connection, causing the PC to not boot.
